Silificified Porphyry Rhyolitic Intrusive with Radiometric Values over 2,500 cps

Introduction: The Macusani West project is in the early exploration phase. Solex is currently carrying out a regional exploration program to better understand the geological settings in the region.

Size/Location: The Macusani West project covers 34,100 hectares directly west of the Macusani East project. The general area is situated within the Province of Carabay, Department of Puno, SE Peru, and lies within the relatively flat Altiplano of the Eastern Cordillera. The project area is remote but rough access routes have been identified during the first stage of the company's ongoing regional exploration program.


Ownership: The project is 100% owned by Solex Resources Corp.


History: No previous work was completed on the project.


Geology/Mineralization: From limited work conducted by Solex, Macusani West appears to be covered by ignimbrites and other pyroclastic rocks of the Pliocene Quenamari Formation. Uranium mineralization observed through surface work appears to consist of secondary yellow to greenish yellow uranium minerals, such as coffinite, autunite, tyuyamunite and carnotite.


Exploration: A comprehensive regional and reconnaissance exploration program is underway to identify priority target areas for more systematic exploration. Since September 2007, a total of 11,000 hectares have been covered and data compilation is ongoing. To date, nine (9) new anomalies have been identified in the previously unexplored Macusani West project and are summarized below.  Detailed exploration programs are now being prepared to follow up on these initial anomalies:
