Macusani South Central - Eluvial Deposit - Fragmented rock slabs |
 |
Introduction: The Macusani South Central has been explored by the company in 2006 with general areas of interest identified for follow up and possible drilling.
Size/Location: The Macusani South Central project covers 4,000 hectares in concessions located between the Macusani South and West Macusani projects. The general area is situated within the Province of Carabay, Department of Puno, SE Peru, and lies within the relatively flat Altiplano of the Eastern Cordillera. Access is by gravel road.
Ownership: The project is 100% owned by Solex Resources Corp.
History: Initial prospecting work was initiated by Solex in September, 2006. Prior work is unknown in the area.
Geology/Mineralization: Like other projects in the Macusani Uranium District, the Mascusani South Central area contains ignimbrites and other pyroclastic rocks of the Pliocene Quenamari Formation. Uranium mineralization observed through surface work appears to consist of secondary yellow to greenish yellow uranium minerals, such as coffinite, autunite, tyuyamunite and carnotite.
Exploration: Regional exploration began in September 2007 and a 1:25,000 scale geology map and geophyics have been completed. To date, two (2) new anomalies have been identified in the previously unexplored property and are summarized below. Detailed exploration programs are now being prepared to follow up on these initial anomalies:
